FF: Summer Plans

Words 100

β€œHow about a long relaxed vacation at a log cabin in the hills?” Dad asked.

β€œWow! Will there be any snow?” Rhea asked.

β€œYes. If you are willing to trek.”

β€œGreat.” Shreyas lit up.

β€œWon’t it be crowded in the summer?” Mom was doubtful

β€œNot at all.” Dad beamed. β€œIt’s far from the madding crowd.”

β€œMeaning I will have to cook.”

β€œI will cook. We all will.”

β€œAs if.” Mom snorted. β€œAll of you will sit with your phones….”

β€œOh there’s no phone or internet connection there.”

β€œWhat? Count me out.” Shreyas stood up.

β€œMe too.” Rhea said. β€œSorry Dad.”

  1. Good Morning. Whenever I checked in a hotel, first thing I used to do was turn on the TV .Now a days it is my smart phone. But I can live without it. Depends on where I am.

  2. Lovely story. As soon as she heard that the place is away from the maddening world, mum knows she has to cook.
Kids are kids. They can’t live without phones.
I can live without a phone. The one I have is always on silent mode. so obviously I miss all the calls even when the phone is right next to me.😊
    Cheers..

  3. I would love to go on a vacation like that, with no internet connection, but I can see where the kids would balk at it. I would still like to have some kind of emergency way to contact someone in case of emergency, but only for an emergency.

    1. You are so right! Actually, my husband and I had booked at a place where we later realized had no connection. It was a gorgeous retreat, but after a sleepless night, I canceled it, imagining our son not being able to contact us or vice versa πŸ˜…
