This week, for Becca’s Sunday Trees, I have a massive Neem (Azadirachta indica) tree in idyllic surroundings.

Isn’t she magnificent? And not just that. Here’s what I missed in the first time I took this aerial shot.

Just a little lower down, nestling within the hardened bark are the tender young leaves of the Peepal (Ficus religiosa) tree. Truly a miracle of nature don’t you think?

Lovely picture of symbiosis. Neem tree sheltering and probably nourishing the Peepal tree. I can imagine once the Peepal tree grows up it will look at two different trees are grown from one trunk. The nature playing her part as the horticulturist.

Nature gives a leg up to those who need it. I only hope this peepul doesn’t destroy the tree that it is feeding on…..

Even I was wondering about that Sunita! It is quite possible the tenacious peepal splitting the aging Neem. Thank you!
