Hello! Here’s my contribution to Cee’s FOTD challenge. Today, I am here with a flower that looks like an alien. Seriously. Have a look

Doesnt it look like an alien? Once with lots of antennas! π

It’s actually a creeper growing on a frangipani tree, a red one at that. I have usually seen yellow or white ones before

Going back to the alien, anyone know the name?
Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day.
This is so pretty

It is Bluecrown Passionflower. The stemen is like a cross, hense it is called passionflower. I hahe seen it growing outside my hostel in Mumbai. It is also grown here in the UK as a garden plant for the flowers.. In south America the plant and flower has medicinal use. Passionfruit we eat is also one of its species.

My explantion was not completely correct but there is an interesting story why it is called passionflower. It has everything to do with the Jesus Christ.Five sepals and five petas represent ten deciples and the middlle crown the thorn crown put on his head before crucifiction.

In India it is also called Krishna Kamal. The purple fruit has a lot of sweet and sour flesh full of seeds. It is mostly used in making juice. Need a lot of sugar.
