My second submission (first one here) this week after my ‘inspirational’ walk 😀 Would love to know which one you think is better. Thanks!

His First Pair
Words 102
“Dadu you came!” Rimi ran to hug her grandfather.
“Soon our village will get electricity…”
“Great! Dad will have no choice but to take me.” Rimi pulled him.
“Wait. Let me wash my feet first.”
“Why are you bare feet?!”
“I couldn’t wear leather on my feet!”
“But Dadu shoes are also made of synthetic material.”
“Really?”
“Yes! Let me buy you a pair of shoes.”
“I love my new shoes.” He carefully tucked them into his bag. “Thank you.”
“Aren’t you going to wear them?”
“Oh but I couldn’t!”
“Why not? They aren’t leather…”
“They’ll get dirty and frayed.”

Dear Dahlia,
He’s not going to wear those shoes, no matter what, is he? I’m hard pressed to say which I like better. Good job this week. 😀

It has been a busy day and even though it is not late my mind is dozing. Can’t think of an intelligent comment. Sometimes we wonder why do we wear shoes. To protect our feet from dirt and sharp objects, but if the shoes are a Jimmi Choo who wants to dirty them? I can understand the old man, not wanting to dirty them. To him, they are as precious and priceless.
It is a clear night and a lovely full Moon is making its way across the sky.
Good Night Dahlia.

Jimmi Choo shoes 😀 Feeling jealous of the clear night – dull and grey here. Happy Christmas!

I think I like this one better, but they’re both good in their own way. Just different 🙂

I like both! This one is so very typical of an older person who treasures a new possession and won’t use it.

Nice one dahlia.
He doesn’t want to dirty them coz3 it’s leather…
On the other way round, my son who is 8 is so possesses with his 2 year old sandals that he doesn’t want to wear any other thing. I’m o shoppo freak and enjoy wearing all kinds. My philosophy a pair of footwear if it lasts for 3 months good, for 6 months very good. Use it and throw it and shop for new.

Poor shoes…You don’t want to use them; Dadu does not want to use them 😋 Young and old both their excuses for not using “poor shoes” are valid😊 Loved both. Happy Holidays !

This reminded me of an distant uncle of my mom’s. ..very rich but a bit of a miser would wear that old white and blue Hawai slippers (not sure if you know )so worn out and the grip tied up with strings….I asked him once why he wore them he was rich he could get new …he smiled at me and told it serves it’s purpose as long as it does it will do…..well written
