The Addict
Words 100
“How was your day out with Piya?”
“She dragged me through the shops for hours.”
“Couldn’t she find what she was looking for?”
“Oh, she wasn’t looking for anything in particular.”
“Ah. Window shopping.”
“Not exactly.”
“Then?”
“She must have tried on at least a 100 pair of shoes…”
“What!”
“In 10 different shops.”
“Did she buy any?”
“She settled for 3 pairs…”
“Settled?”
“She was on a shoestring budget.”
“Yet she could afford 3 pairs?”
“She simply had to complete her century.”
“You mean she already had 97 pairs?”
“99 pairs. Two pairs to get the next century going.”

This post is inspired by my baby sistah 😀 And going by the number of shoe addict quotes, she is clearly not alone 😉
“You know you are a shoe addict if you think there is always room for one more pair”
“What do women want? Shoes.” ― Mimi Pond
“I would hate for someone to look at my shoes and say Oh my God! they looks so comfortable!” Christian Louboutin
“The look he shot her was incredulous in the extreme. “You have a filing system for your shoes?” ― Norah Wilson,
“You can’t buy happiness but you can buy shoes and that’s kind of the same thing”
😀 Hope you liked!
Lol!…one would surely need a filing system to keep track of those shoes and the centuries 😀

😂😂😂 happens when I go with my friend. She says “let’s go shopping”. She tries on shoes, clothes, jewellery and everything else! She wants to go to every shop. And then she bargains like crazy, finally says “anyways I never wanted it”! 😒😒😒 Now, I go only if I have to buy anything, otherwise I dodge 😂😂

Dear Dahlia,
And as I told another writer, “If the shoe fits, buy a pair in every color.” 😉 102 pairs is a little extreme, though. Love the dialogue here.

I feel sorry for the poor forgotten ones right at the back. Or maybe she polishes them all regularly, sitting in her shoe trove like a dragon with his gold 🙂

Marilyn Monroe said, give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.
I am just working towards that

I don’t get the fascination with shoes. I do have a friend that has a great many.
This story reminded me of her. Nice dialog …

Neither do I! I prefer to hang on to my favorite pair for as long as possible. Thank you 🙂

Love the conversation. Does Piya have an entire room dedicated to store her shoes? Ha Ha!

The ending made me laugh so hard. And the tone of the story–the reluctant shopping companion sounds so exhausted, almost disgusted with disbelief and outrage at having to spend her day in such a way.

Hi Dahlia, yes we did go with the same theme to an extent. It’s funny how important shoes are to some. 🙂 Great story.

Wow! 99 pairs… But I know woman crazy enough to do that. It’s sad, this preoccupation with shoes and clothes, isn’t it?
