The Merry-go-round of Life
Words 100
Starry-eyed, she clung to his arm, looking this way and that.
βThat one!β She pointed. βAnd that. And…β
Seeing her excitement, he couldnβt help but laugh. βWhatever. I am game. But be sure about your choices. Donβt do something you might regret later.β
But she shrugged off his words of caution. Everything was so new and tempting. She didnβt want to miss any of it.
Half-way through, dizziness set in and she wanted out. βStop it.β She pleaded. βI want to get off.β
βBut darling,β his voice was a soft whisper, βI thought you knew. This is a one-way ride.β

In my defense, at first glance, it looked like an amusement park. Anyway i am still not quite sure what it is. Thank you for visiting. Looking forward to visiting yours. Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend.
For anyone interested, Chapter 8 of Some Sugar & Spice is up.
I like the progression from sensory overload, exhaustion, and helplessness, ready to learn hard lessons. Good title for a great metaphor. I felt a menacing air about him, like he might have set her up in some way, ready to step in when she was at her weakest.

Dear Dahlia,
Oh dear. That took an ominous turn at the end. A ride she certainly didn’t expect. Nicely done. You left me wanting to know more.
