FF: The Stuff of Dreams
Words 100
A cheer broke out from the crowd as Parul arrived. She had just won the gold in the 5000m after yesterdayβs silver in steeplechase.
βQuite a journey from running in sugarcane fields, training with boys, overcoming societal pressures to the top of the victory stand. Congratulations!β
Still out of breath, Parul smiled. βThank you.β
βWhat a thrilling finish! Throughout you were trailing and whoosh – in the last 20 m you overtook the lead. How did that happen?β
Β βItβs been my dream to join the police. It popped into my head that a DSP post is Β guaranteed for gold medallists.β Β Β

Your story made me smile. Good for her on both counts. Days of women being 2nd class citizens is over. As time goes on there will be a day when the very idea of it will be laughable.
