Words 100
βGranny please tell me that story again.β
βThat day,β Granny began, βwe were all so excited to be meeting up at our beach house. It was a clear day, blue skies with wispy clouds, an inky blueβ¦β
βWho all were coming?β
βEveryone! Your Aunt from India, Uncle from Canada, their childrenβ¦β
βWhy were they coming?β
βThere were several reasons. It was my 75th and your 10th birthday, your parents anniversary. Your Uncleβs promotion, your Aunt wanted to introduce her fiancΓ©. Oh, that was such a joyous time with so many things to celebrate!β
βWhy did they drop those bombs Granny?β

Interesting that the child wants to hear that story over and over…
Beautifully told, Dahlia.

Thanks Dale. Actually I conceived the story as the child and the granny dying in the blast while losing touch with the rest of the family.

Oh that grandchild’s question got me right in the gut. How can an adult answer? Powerful writing, Dahlia β€
