“Must you always win?” The chair overturned as Rohan stormed out.
Dave held Sheila back. “Let him be. He’s had a bad day.”
“That’s no excuse for bad manners.” Sheila fumed.
“Maybe he’s hungry.” Binna said.
“Who isn’t?” Sheila was in no mood to be pacified. “Always bulldozing…”
“When did I ever?” Rohan was back.
“Last Sunday, when we…” Sheila began counting.
“It was my birthday…”
“Today’s mine.” Binna raised a hand.
“Right!” Rohan clicked his fingers. “And you’d naturally prefer chole bhature over tacos.” He smirked.
“Nope.” Binna countered with a smug smile. “I ordered tteokbokki.”

Hello everyone! I sneaked in last week and hope to stick around for a long(er) period this time. Looking forward to catching up with all of you. Happy weekend 🙂
Hello Dahlia. I watch a lot of Korean dramas and tteokbokki comes up often. So I looked it up and it seems similar to idli with spicy sambhar but sweeter and spicier. Welldone Binna, tteobokki wins over chole bhature and tacos.

Hello Dahlia, a new reader here. I have heard a lot about your stories, specifically about silver streaks from a reader of yours and a friend of mine, who can’t stop gushing about the story 🙂, and ofcourse that has intrigued me to read silver streaks too. So can you please allow me that and provide me with the password of your blog?
Will be thankful.

Food is the answer to a happy gathering! Now, like Keith, I’m hungry. I love Korean food.

I’m not a fan of spicy either. I would recommend Japchae and Bibimbap. 🙂

Food can divide and conquer, appease, provide comfort, and create family drama. You captured that well. And, yes, now I, too, am hungry.

Does that mean Sheila took a middle ground? Good one!
Dave returned because he most probably has realised that it is Sheila’s birthday.
Lovely FF.
Even I had to turn to google to find what tteokbokki is.
Cheers..

I’m not sure I want to know what they are drinking. Doesn’t sound like a healthy group.

Ha! Sounds like a battle brewing for another day… at least they got to eat this time. I’ve heard conversations just like this one around family dinners. You described it well!
