About this Blog

Β

Hello and welcome to Stories and more – my secret hideout in this alternate universe. Of late, I seem to have developed an irresistible desire to jabber – I guess a sure shot sign that I am aging. Anyway, since it is so difficult to get hold of an attentive ear, blogging is my attempt to catch your eye, perhaps touch your heart, find a friend and generally have a blast without moving from my seat.

Certainly a win-win situation but only if you are game.

So how about it people – do you have some time to spare? If so please, be my guest and take a stroll through knotty verbose overgrown paths of the blog which have been unraveled in this post for easy navigation. To cut a long story short, apart from short stories (including flash fiction) and Moonshine, the rambling yarn, there are other posts on a range of topics (listed below) – the latest to be added being the A to Z challenge Posts and Clicks and Pics.

Story Club, discusses short stories where readers are encouraged to participate.Β  From DM’s DeskΒ  and Khulasa Times are only likely to make sense if you are an IPKKND fan and a reader of Silver Streaks posted elsewhere. But you are welcome to drop in and take a scroll around who knows they may just make sense to you too πŸ˜€ Then there’s the A to Z of the Great Indian Wedding.

Do check them out – who knows you may find something to suit your taste? Hope you have fun – I am off to chomp at my (crossed) fingernails.

Thanks for dropping by and especially for leaving me a note πŸ˜‰

Optimistically yours,

Dahlia

Updated (2018)

It’s been over two years that I have been blogging and I have only just realized that the shelf life of a Post is just until the next Post or a maximum of 5 or 6 posts after which they are forever lost in the scrolling maze of new posts and updates. On the other hand, Pages (which if you are on a computer can see on the left hand picture panel below the Recent Posts section) remain as they are. Quite unfair don’t you think? Last weekend I worked very hard and re-organized and re-categorized my blog posts. And I even added blurbs and snippets to my posts to help you choose and decide. In a couple of indexes here and here, I even color coded it with my recommendations. Would that tempt you to click on a link or two?

Of This and That (Penned in the early days while I was still trying to get the hang of blogging – probably best given a wide berth πŸ˜‰

  1. This is such a frank and to the point ‘About this blog’ and, yet, there is an underlying passion about the work you will to undertake/have undertaken, which from the surface one feels, is on the pretext of the blog and at the heart is your love for writing. Feels to me. I like the chirpy voice of this page. Great. This is a rich blog for me, a beginner in the field of reading and writing. Looking forward to learning. Cheers.

      1. Please don’t call this certification. I am incapable and insignificant to do so. Though I would say that, it is what I felt. Glad that it gladdens you.:)

  4. Hi, you know a friend of mine, Janice Wald, and I think another, Yvette Prior. Congratulations on your award. I haven’t met anyone with time to spare, but you have some fun things here to read, so maybe we just make time, yes? I blog mostly about blogging and writing with some photography thrown.

  6. Dear Dahlia di, i want to tell you that you are not forgotten and i miss you and your writing. You gave us Silver Streaks, which i loved! I wrote to some of the some writers whom i follow and read, on the 10th anniversary of IPKKND, but it seems WP was acting up so some of you got the message and some didn’t! Well am sending it again to you πŸ™‚ You are a fabulous writer and have some die- hard fans so please dont stop writing.

Hi, this is me, Arshiaddict, sending a heartfelt message to wish all the fabulous writers on the 10th anniversary of IPKKND. This is purely my unadulterated feelings for all of you, my awe at the sheer genius and beauty of the words written by all of my most fav writers that has kept me glued to reading ONLY fanfiction (i kid you not) for the last 3/ 4 years. My discovery of the IPK fandom, esp IF, was by chance really, i happened to be going through some videos of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and came across a byte on Sanaya, where she was presented a book on Arshi by Tina Eskay and then i looked up her blog and that my dears, was that. There was no looking back since. Then i discovered WP and Blogspot, you get the drift, right. So my dear dear writers, many of whom i interact with regularly and share some of my deepest thoughts with them too πŸ™‚, some i read but do not always comment (forgive me for that 😞) and then there are some i pester and bully too 😏 . You know if anyone had told me then that i would worry and fret over the health and well – being of people i know only virtually over their unusual silence (more so in these horrid Covid 19 days) i would have scoffed and glared and said β€˜unbelievable’ but here i am, 4 years on doing exactly that. You all have made me laugh, cry, ponder and made me feel things i knew nothing about. Along the way, i have ignored my hubby on many nights feigning a headache 😜, spent hours munching on midnight snacks, churmurs, chips you name it! while reading page after page of a riveting story, ordered take out instead of cooking and almost missed deadlines at work. But all’s fair in love and war, as we have seen with IPKKND and our mutual love for Arshi transcends everything. I wish all of you the best in life along with lots of happiness and good health. Lots of ❀️ from me!
