Hello and here’s hoping you are doing well in these difficult times. I am trying to get back to blogging but nothing new as of now. Unless you are into #IPKKND and Silver Streaks. In which case, Season 2 is now underway. See you there 🙂
The Christmas Gift
Words 200
“I wonder what Santa will gift me this year.” Rimi mused.
“Lucky you,” Rimi’s grandfather was jealous, “In my time there was no Santa.”
“That’s not possible!” Rimi protested. “Perhaps you were a bad boy.”
“I was always a good boy.” Huffed Dadu. “It’s not fair that I didn’t get any toys. Not even on my birthday.”
“Aww.” Rimi commiserated. “I’ll ask Santa!”
“As if he’ll agree.” Dadu snorted.
The next morning, Rimi ran to Dadu. “Guess what I saw last night?”
“What?”
“A thick blanket of snow covered the garden…”
“But it never snows here!”
She stamped her foot. “It did last night.”
“Fine!”
“Elves sat around the stumps talking when a sleigh drew up in a shower of snow. I jumped out and asked Santa why he didn’t give you gifts.”
“What did he say?”
“He said his GPS wasn’t as advanced then.”
Dadu coughed.
“I said, why not gift him now? But Santa said he brought gifts for only children.”
“I told you so!” Dadu grumbled.
“But I managed to convince him!” Rimi was triumphant.
“How?”
“I said what about those in their second childhood?”
Dadu laughed and enfolded Rimi in his arms. “My best gift ever!”

Thanks a lot Anshu for reading and your encouraging comment. Am going through a blank phase and am trying to get back into the groove with little success, so far. But hopefully soon…

Hello Dahlia. How are you? Missed reading your posts. It is almost Christmas time again. Days are short and cold. There are still some copper leaves hanging on to my cherry tree. My tree had its branches loped off by my neighbour on his side. I am very upset but he can do what he wants on his side. He is hoping that high wind brings the tree down. Anyway enough of a sad tale of the cherry tree. New Robins have appeared in the garden and one of them comes and sits near me when I dig the garden. I have a little chat with him and listens waiting patiently for me to move away so that he can get to the worms I have dug up. The squeerals are digging up whoes everywhere burying food for winter.
Hope you read this. Is your sister still in Ireland?

I meant squirrels. Pesky things are troubling me with the spellings too.

Hi Ferdi!!! So happy to get your note and the cherry tree and squirrel update – like a breath of fresh air. As you know very much in short supply here 😛 Sorry for the late reply strangely I didnt get notification and since nobody (with exceptions!) is considerate enough to even say hello I dont bother to visit without notification. Plus I have been very busy at home and work. Mom had her knee replacement surgery and then was down with a bad cough – I guess you can imagine the rest. Yep my sis is still in Ireland 🙂
I also miss interacting with you but what to do – Dahlia is absconding. Thank you for trying to bring her back 🙂

Hi Dahlia. I can see you have been busy. I just wanted to say hello. I also read somewhere that you may not come back to the blog so if you did not answer then I was going to email you. I am still reading stories on blogs especially Jignasha and Jennifer. Though Jennifer has gone missing for months now.Just hope she and her family are OK.
Hope your mum is recovering well from her knee op. Every other person I know has Knee replacement surgery. I just I never have to go through that.
I am glad to hear from you. Keep in touch.

I cannot tell you how much your wanting to say hello meant to me Ferdi. From my blog stats I can see that a lot of people, about 50 odd people still visit my blog everyday – mostly for SS but nobody bother to even click a like leave alone a hello. Interestingly I posted a note under Khushi is Pregnant chapter (115 I think) and that page has maximum number of views but still no response. Found it very disheartening and demoralizing. But you my dear cheered me up no end. I can ‘see’ your garden and perhaps I will actually visit it some day 🙂
