The Daily Post invites us to post pictures of weathered – or our interpretation of it. And I haven’t done quotes in a while, let’s see if I can mix and match them up. Hope you like!

βWe are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.β βΒ Buddha
A 3rd Century red sandstone sculpture of Buddha. Doesnt the peace shine through the chipped cheek and the broken limbs?
βYou may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.β β Maya Angelou
I cannot believe that once upon a time the Virupakhsa temple at the backdrop was once just a stone. From the UNESCO Heritage Site the 14th century temple town at Hampi.

Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along. Rumi
Isn’t it fascinating to see that not only animals but also trees crave company, someone to call their own – even if it is a hard unyielding stone?
βI don’t want to be married just to be married. I can’t think of anything lonelier than spending the rest of my life with someone I can’t talk to, or worse, someone I can’t be silent with.β β Mary Ann Shaffer,
βThe Little Boy and the Old Man
Said the little boy, “Sometimes I drop my spoon.”
Said the old man, “I do that too.”
The little boy whispered, “I wet my pants.”
I do that too,” laughed the little old man.
Said the little boy, “I often cry.”
The old man nodded, “So do I.”
But worst of all,” said the boy, “it seems
Grown-ups don’t pay attention to me.”
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
I know what you mean,” said the little old man.β

Doesn’t it look as if the fresh green trees have come to console and give company to a house that was once overrun with chatter, the pitter-patter, gurgles and chatter swirling with mouth-watering flavors and billowing saris drying in the sun?
βYouβll learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken. Be bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to conform, take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path. Laugh in the face of adversity, and leap before you look. Dance as though EVERYBODY is watching. March to the beat of your own drummer. And stubbornly refuse to fit in.β β Mandy Hale,

Love your variety and quotes.
and of course a little from you – but the pics and quotes reminded me of a Tina Schell photo post… she is noted for this pairing – well many bloggers do this too – and I love your version… and the “learn, as you get older” with the old tree was a nice way to wrap up.

Loved all the pictures and quotes. They are all excellent My favourite picture –The old dilapidated and abandoned building. Loved the galleried balconies. These days you do not see such workmanship. It is all being destroyed and lost forever.
I love and admire Maya Angelou. Her quote here completely describes her. I am in complete agreement with Mary Ann Shafer on marriage. And I have always marched to the beat of my own drummer and refused to be browbeaten in doing anything I did not want to do.(Mandy Hale, Preethi Nair).
Good Morning Dahlia. Have a good weekend.

Good Morning Dahlia. happy Makar Sankranti. Most years I am in India enjoying Kite flying and eating Gud and til laddoos. Here in London, it is too cold to fly kites but my sister in law makes a lot of til laddoos. So we celebrate Sankranti and her birthday eating til laddoos and hot pakoras.
have a good day dahlia.
